The withdrawal of part of the American military contingent from Germany, announced by Donald Trump, may not take place. According to the German newspaper Die Welt, the US Congress intends to block the redeployment of the American military in Europe. Democrats and Republicans agree on a new package of laws to
I'm used to bureaucratic and complicated processes when dealing with the government so that's not an issue. Good to know the job market is not completely dead. I'm looking to apply to a place called Passau. What have you heard or seen about it? Is it immigrant friendly?
Wow, that's deepest Bavaria. Really picturesque place, the people tend to be more outgoing, friendly and hospitable than the average German, but they're at the same time also more traditionalist and conservative. They'll help you to fit in, but they also expect you to fit in, get to know local customs, learn the language etc. It's not an area where i'd worry about getting in trouble for where you come from, but i'd be careful around cops. If you'd happen to be into drugs in any way, you'd have to be cautious there in ways that just don't apply to the rest of the country. Like, up north, we just light up spliffs in the park or at concerts and nobody cares, that doesn't fly down south.
Wow thanks for the reply! Its good to know that its hospitable, conservative or no. I have no qualms about learning the local customs cuz hey when in Rome and all that. I'm actually looking forward to learning the language as I feel its opens up so many opportunities not only professionally but socially as well. Fortunately I don't do any drugs(not even alcohol :P) so I guess cops will not really bother me. This really calms my fears about going there and finding myself in chud central. Thanks once again for taking the time to reply.
