Honestly hope he ends up a complete pariah

But unfortunately, even being an absolute monster isn't a guarantee of that these days

Roiland messaged her first: “Hey what’s up biiiiitch (jk!),” an apparent nod to the voice of Rick Sanchez, one of the “Rick and Morty” characters.

If you look closely, you can can actually pinpoint the exact moment the author's aspirations of being a serious journalist breaks in two.

This specific girl was 20, so not technically a child, but obviously still weird and unethical for a 40 year old. That kinda age difference obv has inherent major power dynamics (+ the power dynamic of a celebrity with a fan), he knew that and used it manipulate her, pressure her into drinking underage, and sexually assault her

Fine, not that particular one. Just being a racist (unless that was a different one as well) sex pest that also enjoys domestic violence at home all the while.

If memory serves he was also creeping on people below legal consent age. libertarian-alert

Yea some were underage apparently. Most weren't, but reading the details of this article really goes to show how similarly easy it is to manipulate 18-22 year olds as it is to manipulate minors. Legal =/= moral obviously, I believe he might have even been in states where the age of consent is 16 when having sex with the younger girls

Knowing libertarian creeps like him, his presence in those states was probably with well-researched awareness of local age of consent laws. libertarian-alert

It's wild too because if you looked at his online videos or jokes in the show, especially the ad-libbed ones, you could see there was some bad vibes.

Jokes about consent are bad as a high schooler, it's even worse when you're an adult with power over people.

His animated "special" that was pretty much all about sexual violence against children as a "joke" said it all, so many years ago.

Harvey Weinstein had a hand in a lot of movies, many of which people don't even know about and watched anyway.

Rick and Morty is like if Weinstein personally wrote and directed an ironic satire series that frequently did scenes involving sexual violence against women in show business as a joke.

As time goes on, the more I see someone being hateful or creepy while insisting that their hatred/creepiness is "ironic" or "satire" or whatever, the more it looks like they're probably showing who they really are.
