    Sad news : japanese Tokyo Lab company, which is archiving many old animes since 1955, will close in November, and they'll have to destroy all the masters unclaimed by right holders.

    WTF? Just release them as public domain, idk.

      Because the right holders still have the rights to the intellectual property. These laws are so fucked up. It's like slashing unsold Nike shoes, but instead it's 68 years of art.

    ai frame upscaling does look very good for solving this problem, though. i recently watched a 1080p tng remaster with it and it was great.
