I don't actually think Josh was purely a grift and he'd have gotten much better results had it just been him vs the incumbent rather than this massive field. Probably somewhere in the 20% range.
Jayapal spent a ton of money on Beth Dogilo that isn't visible in her own personal spending through the CPC PAC (which is funded by dues from CPC members in the same vain as DSCC). The local democratic party also revoked his VAN (voter file database) and act blue access for posting that Biden was a rapist which are all things ordinary justice dem candidates have access too.
There was a big push towards the end to tell anyone planning on voting for him to support Beth instead
