lately at work, I've been partnered up with a guy because we've both been doing a lot of sewer reroutes. You invariably need another set of hands or a person to run and grab the saw blade you left in the work van, or to help turn the other end of something. Somehow I got paired with him.
this post is my coworker.
in the last month we have worked together on almost a dozen jobs. I've lost count of how many times I've heard him tell me how much he 'isnt a racist, but..' Or how Antifa is worse than nazis. I've heard him rattle on several times about how the Soviets were a much worse threat than Germany.
He also thinks that George Soros is hell-bent on destroying western culture. He is a paying member of some shit that Gavin McInness grifts with. He refuses to vaccinate his child because he thinks it'll kill his child. He isn't worried about vaccine exemptions for school because he says 'I will just make my wife home school our son'. He is a tradwife guy, through and through. He refuses to wear deodorant because he thinks it's poison. He has bottles of the vitamins that Alex Jones hawks inside his work vehicle glovebox. He doesn't believe in flat earth shit, but he does believe there are bases hidden in the Arctic.
It's both frightening and comical listening to this guy.
I tend to not say much of anything at first because he can't tell right away whether I'm ok with what he is saying or not. He won't quite backpedal but he will definitely try to soften up the impact of what he said originally. The backpedaling is amusing.
It's also pretty easy to get him to feel some degree of guilt for the things he says... He has said more than once how he isn't a bad parent because he doesn't get immunized himself, and will not immunize his son. I think it's prompted by my telling him how I do get immunized, and I get my kids immunized because it's a bad move as a parent to not go the extra step for my kid. He believes in herd immunity tho.
I've straight out shamed him into not listening to Ben Shapino at work any more. For about a month straight, every morning while he was cleaning out his truck I'd remind him how that shit is rotting his brain. I haven't heard it up at the shop in a few months now.
I'm not some persuasive super commie or anything.. I'm just more confident than he is in the things I open my mouth over and I think it shows.
any which way around it, dude is a chump with the intellectual prowess of a carp.
