    Okay, I read it carefully, and for none of these people does it give a clue about what they actually do. They are "professionals", they "write work emails", have "team meetings" online, and "take client calls". This can be "exhausting sometimes", but it makes you wonder: if - like in the Parable of Saint Simon - they would all just vanish, magically, would their work at all be missed by society? I doubt it, and suspect this is the main reason they can live like nomads.

      Well, if the nerd doesn't fill out a projection correctly, some giant manufacturing plant creates an extra 20,000 pounds of plastic for the garbage dump

      That's the great thing about capitalism- it solves a few of the problems it creates!!!

        The difference is that your mom still presumably had to teach for 6-7 hours a day and do teacher things offline. These people don't do anything all day.
