no one is above criticism even the states/politicians you idolize

V good, you have now developed the notion of critical support! Cool that we all keep reinventing the wheel, one day we'll get to the cart

Middle class white kids who learned leftist lingo to seem woke but are too dumb to let go of American propaganda and their relatively comfortable lives.

Eh, I was the same a year or so ago. Didn't like SU or Stalin. Definitely hated China. Over time, my views changed.

Same here but I always kinda liked Stalin just had to pretend I didn't...now I dont care and basically shill China 24/7. The progression is truly beautiful.

So many people have strong negative opinions or more rarely strong positive opinions on China for people who have clearly never been there, don’t know anyone there and can’t read Chinese. It’s incredibly frustrating to watch as even a non expert. I think outside of a few spaces I’m just going to give up on the subject because the thing people are talking about with China clearly isn’t actually China but some meta-idea on what China represents to their lives.

Funnily enough, the more I read about it the more I realize how genuinely incredible the USSR was. Literally just created the modern planned economic model, reached incredible strides in housing/healthcare infrastructure, and helped create some of the best governments around the world (Cuba, Vietnam, etc)

Me using small words to explain how the USSR purposely starved citizens if they didn't follow Stalin

Yeah that’s the whole game. Just criticize everyone equally to make it seem like we don’t need to change anything because “well everything is fucked.”

She looks very young and is making easy to deconstruct claims. Like, all you have to do is be like "Hey, cool that you are interested in leftist but I think that you might be misunderstanding why many leftists study the Soviet Union. Lenin himself was against "Great Man Theory" which is similar to what you are concerned about. I think that it could be helpful for you to study more about idealist vs materialist views of leaders"
