Is this the United Left I've been hearing so much about?
Thing is, I've always kind of admired NJR for being such an unapologetic weirdo and for doing something as doomed-to-failure as starting a print publication and largely succeeding. I can't defend what he's saying here and I won't try, but ironically his publication is one of the major reasons I'm even able to understand what he's talking about and understand why I disagree with it. If I can simp for a moment, anyone who has read his articles and listened to him speak knows he's a kind and sensitive guy who is as horrified and outraged by injustice as the rest of us, and who wants to dismantle capitalism for the benefit of all. There's still time for him to go completely off the deep end, and I hope yesterday was an aberration and not a sign of things to come, but I'm not ready to dismiss him just yet, and I wish other leftists wouldn't be so quick to write him off.
