Didn't the Viet Cong actually use these sorts of underground tunnels (including dead ends with lethal traps) to hide from the American and French invaders? The memory of Vietnam would have made infographics like these appear quite credible to a US audience who wouldn't think to ask what resources were at the Taliban's diposal.
Good points that it deals with resentments and false ideas of the US population (and the rest of the core). I for one stand in solidarity with our brave heroes of the Viet cong .
