    would have perfect grammar

That's not an indicator. Most people in many countries learn English at school and some are very proficient.

The height and weight thing though, definitely lol no one would do that.

It kind of is an indicator.

I'm not saying that esol people can't learn to type like native speakers, but in my experience the vast majority of Chinese esol speakers bring over certain idiosyncrasies unless they were fully immersed in English at a young age (which basically making them native speakers).

There are many, many, Chinese people who speak English with great proficiency. But the amount who are 18, haven't received overseas education/immersion (went to HS in China) and indistinguishable from native speakers online is pretty small.

Everyone does. But it won't necessarily be apparent from such a short post. For instance I am not a native English speaker, and I have never received overseas education. Do you think you could figure it out from this post alone?

The post isn't supposed to be written by an 18 year old. It's basically role play. Remember that it's set in 2025. They're not pretending they really are an 18 year old Chinese high school student. I was just saying that a short post having good grammar isn't really a great indicator.
