they spent their time preemptively scolding fans to not be invasive, which I guess is fine.....but amber made it especially weird with the quote "we're all family here, and you're not in it, I'm sorry" which is just a very strange sentiment given the circumstances.......this was an announcement to his fans about a serious condition, and she took the time to remind people that she's much closer to him than you........just very weird and offputting......Felix I thought was basically fine, just a bit protective.

Most fans of anything are normal people, but if you have a million fans and even .1% are weirdos that's 1000 people. If you're friend is hurt, maybe dying and you know 1000 people are going to do something invasive or creepy to find out why you might get a little defensive. I thought she was fine under the circumstances.

pretty natural reaction from people who get unsolicited and far-too-familiar replies to everything they say. their friend is in the hospital; give em a break.

She was right and it was worth saying because people lose perspective on their paradoxical relationships sometimes

Is she wrong? I don't think you or I understand what it's like to be such a public figure. You're kind of making this about you to be honest and I don't really think it's justified.

I mean, I don’t think I am, and let me reiterate that I totally get why they wanted to stress privacy, but the way it was communicated was a bit abrasive…..but shit, it’s a stressful and tragic time, I’m not mad at anyone, I just am full of love and hope for Matt and his family.

9/10 I think content creators reminding their audience that their parasocial fantasies are fake is a good thing but I sort of agree that Amber took that a bit far and did it in a weird context.

I think they just want privacy, it didn't seem really assholish so much as an assertion of their friend and his family's right to privacy in the critical moment of his life. My impression was that Amberr was using levity and humor to lighten the melancholic situation inherent in the statement while also trying to mitigate stressful intrusion from strangers.

I'm saying this as someone who does not like Amberr or Felix; nothing felt off about their requests or considerations.

It’s good that she said that because there’s some real crazy weirdos out there who take their parasocial relationships too far.
