  • This was on purpose. This was a door in face negotiation tactic. They always planned on their scaled back policy but they introduced a ridiculous one so that people would accept a small walk-back. This is exact same shit that Wizards of the Coast pulled with Dungeons & Dragons. It's getting so predictable. When I first heard the news I knew this is exactly how it would play out.

Fuck Unity anyway. Godot is gaining popularity and it's not stopping.

  • I peruse ModWiggler occasionally (bbs forum for synthesizer enthusiasts), more often since the Reddit blackout stuff when I stopped using it.

And I am actually quite pleasantly surprised by the quality of discussion and how many people are actually open to more radical ideologies. Way more personal and pleasant than subreddits for the topic. In fact, most synth enthusiasts I know are leftists. I don't really know why.

I think there is an argument to be made that communities that are smaller and harder to enter have better social health.

Also, I think forum users tend to be older, so you get less edgy teens. I don't trust surveys. I think most people I interact with on Reddit are teens. Surely they wouldn't lie about their age, right?

Is she wrong? I don't think you or I understand what it's like to be such a public figure. You're kind of making this about you to be honest and I don't really think it's justified.

Totally understand where you're coming from. I was at a point where'd I'd spend way too much time on videogames in general, and getting back in to osrs was a net positive because of its lack of predatory microtransations and it's focus on long-term progression which has helped me in my journey with my neurodivergence. Hard limits are important and I may have to stop if I find it starts negatively affecting my executive function.

In my head cannon Jack is emphatically trying to explain agitprop to a drunk Mike who keeps saying "oh, kind of like in that TNG episode "Cost of Living" where Worf makes his son sign a homework contract but then Troi's mother comes in and convinces him it's a bad deal..."
