I've never understood this particular western leftist perspective, where they act like US unipoliarity is somehow a good thing for global socialism, despite the last 30 years being the worst time for socialism globally in a century.

It's strange, its almost like they defend US and western hegemony for an entirely different reason. 🤔

"I know the time of US dominance have reduced leftist movements to obscurity and resulted in the worst liberalization and monopolisation, but we must keep doing thingss that keep the US in power and screwing us"

unipolarity is obviously bad but a lot of people act like brics is doing something it isn't wrt socialism and the expansion is probably diluting the chances of it being the "fuck the USA" club that we dream of. china is obviously not in this to turn saudi into a DPRA.

multipolarity will come as the power of the empire declines and the empire will lash out so the blurb isn't totally wrong there either, but that's on the imperialists not the people opposing them. Like how revolution comes at a cost, except these nation-states aren't exactly a cadre of maoist guerillas.

rising socialism will come after the capitalist warring.

A part of me wonders if it’s just paranoia of being bombed. Maybe they feel if they piss the US off too much then they’ll be next on the chopping block.

Their website won't load for me but apparently these are ex-PCUSA people. From this tweet, they sure do sound like your typical Western ultra.

The Finnish Communist Workers party has a similar take. They do say that multipolarity is a good thing, but call Russia and China imperialist.

Oh yeah. They worked out some weird pyramid-theory right? I have heard about it in conversation a week ago, but haven't had time to look into it. I agree with a comrade of mine tho; simply making everyone the imperialists doesn't help u at all in analyzing the world.

I mean, Russia at least has imperial ambitions, which they currently attempt to realise. But China (at least to my knowledge) does not extract resources from any periphery without mutually agreed upon compensation (not the IMF way) which makes its actions mostly mutually beneficial. That kind of defeats the purpose of an empire.

And even then Putin who revive the imperialism in Russia has better ethics then Western European diaspora governments who ban together under the NATO hegemonic union of bourgeoise as shown in the military intervention of Ukraine. Putin wait for 8 years of diplomacy to stop ethnic genocide of Ukrainians who are ethnically and linguistically Russian, and even the military intervention is used to bomb military targets and free rebelling states in Ukraine. The worst that Putin did in Ukraine is to accidentially kill civilians and civilian buildings that the Azov thugs used as meat shield or did too little to penetrate the propaganda firewall to tell the Western European diaspora people that Russian was not behind the false flag terrorist attacks from the Azov thugs. There was also a video where two arrested people in Moscow can freely sing Ukrainian national anthem under the watch of multiple Russian police guards without restriction.

Russia would have left Ukraine to pre-February 24 borders on April 1, 2022 if west agreed

I think they mean the situation where someone is in a class but some people are working harder than them and they don't want to feel inferior to how much the hard working students will do well than you so they make fun of these hard working students to belittle their self esteem.

In other words, in the USA, the left is very weak and marginal, whereas the BRICKS coalition is undermining imperialism better than the American left ever could, so they insult the parties that they are actually jealous of for succeeding where they should be succeeding.
