Hackernews is a hell site. I use to visit there because I'm a software dev and they sometimes have good tech posts. Had to quit it because the comment section can drive any leftist insane.

And yeah, the commenters are literally capitalists, many of them spawned from the Y Combinator parent company, so they all have vested interests in maintaining a certain narrative within the comments section. There are some good insider scoops from within companies in the comments sometimes, but you'll be banned for 'civility' reasons if you try and rock the boat.
Yep it kills me to go there now. I am a huge lisp nerd so I was on from day one as graham is a lisp god. For a long time I could ignore the capitalist rhetoric or even squint and imagine some of these startup types could potentially be radicalized to try alternative remunerative structures etc. but the reality is the technical talk has died off and the echoes of the eternal now are all that remains. Where are my leftist lisp nerds at?
I got multiple of them to admit that they would rather have fascism that market socialism, it created an amazing rift between employees and capitalists, and it was my shining moment on the website.
It’s either brand new tech bros who don’t know anything yet or people shilling their product. All the good posters I know moved to lobste.rs because the quality dropped like a rock after the Reddit redesign.

Oh god forgot about that place. I dropped that page from my bookmarks/history so i would stop instinctively clicking on it when browsing the internet.
I go there every once in a while to get some posts because they do have some good posts but the comments are just consistently awful
