    Getting rid of these two provisions actual means that people who are affected by them get paid more money from Social Security, not less. At the end of the article, they are arguing that government workers should just pay the same Social Security taxes as everyone else (which they don't do currently) and get the same benefits. Just getting rid of the WEP and GPO means they don't pay into Social Security but get the full benefits.
