I had just dumped all my points in strength to make it easier for me to figure out what weapons to use, and I ended up sticking with the Ultra Greatsword for nearly the whole time. I put some points into dex cause I wanted to use the greatsword that the Abyss Watchers can grant you but I reversed course when I was worried it was just going to make me underpowered.
Luck is honestly pretty useless unless you're farming for something, or running a build that relies on bleed afaik (it raises item discovery and helps proc bleed quicker).
My understanding is that Gwyndolin was born biologically male, but under the moon and with magical affinity, both of which are associated with feminity for the gods which lead them to raise him as a daughter like you said. So I think he's cis but raised in that stereotypically western fantasy feminine style.
Of course it's hard to tell, given the opaque nature of DS lore and which translation you're referring to (see: Throne Watcher in DS2 having differently gendered pronouns across different languages)
pretty much. theyll have a character thats all like 'im a woman' but insists on he/him pronouns amab. like im sure that someone like that earnestly exists, but the reason the writers do it is so they feel good misgendering trans women
I always got the opposite vibe; that they are "biologically" male, raised as a woman, identify as a woman, but are aggressively misgendered throughout the game.
Interesting; I didn't think anyone would ever try to add something like that in (though the apparently clumsy and oblique way they did so gives enough ambiguity to wiggle around).
Also, I have to ask; is the username a historical reference, or a reference to a (relatively) old ass vidya game?

The series can be very obtuse to a fault, DS3 is probably one of my favorite games of the last generation though.
