Honestly, I don't think I'm ready for just how brutal things will be in the future. I'm not ready for violence against masses of climate refugees or how everything will get worse. Even a revolutionary situation sounds absolutely terrifying.

I don't mean to be a doomer though, so I'd appreciate hearing how others overcome these feelings

Climate change is horrible. Revolution is terrifying. The conditions to lead to revolution are terrifying. But the current situation is also terror, and a better world is possible.

It really is Socialism or Barbarism, FALGSC or slow grinding collapse. And it's our job to make the former come to pass before the capitalists kill themselves and drag us down with them.

In the meantime, there are friends and comrades. Mutual aid and organising and agitating. Forcing the Milquetoast parliamentary left to show some balls and bully the libs, even if just to show how little the libs care about people.

Protests and bricks on freeways, Thermiting the occasional mining train track if that's your thing.

Social groups and Singing and reading theory. Raising young people to build communism. Doing science to reduce climate change impacts, Make Gosplan-Cybersyn Mk2, cure disease and aging, and build our presence in space so we don't fuck up the earth anymore.

Making art that weakens the superstructure. Keeping the Anarchists and Communists and even the Dem Socs from spiraling apart.

There is just so much to do in so many areas I don't have time to be depressed.

Yeah sadness is the emotion I feel that keeps me from taking action. It’s not really about not having the time.
