Just got accused of being an AI and "not a person, but something trying to emulate human interaction."

I've been called robotic before for my flat affect and extremely guarded facial expressions. So not new imo

The number of times I’ve either been compared to a robot or gotten hit with “most people would (react a certain way) is too damn high.

id like to point out that the word robot comes from czech and it means slave/serf and the modern usage came from a film that called all the machines slaves

so in a round about way, its also deriding you for not being rich

I'm sorry, I've had similar things levied at me and it does not feel good being dehumanized like that

Of course, I often want to be a robot, so there's that

Any time someone calls you a bot, accuse them of trying to No True Scottsman Fallacy the entire human race (no true human would have an opinion that disagrees with me). Weird internet assholes love fallacies.

Well they still reached for the "dehumanize" button in response, so they suck.

Common liberal smugslord shit. "You must be a Russian/Chinese bot because you disagree with me." smuglord

Also common with cryptofascists, especially the techbro type, that believe in "simulation theory" and use it as a justification to see other people as "NPCs" if they don't like them and want to exploit/hurt them. my-hero

Was talking to someone on Lex (queer social/dating app), got ghosted after info dumping a tiny bit, then they made a post saying everyone they talk to sounds like an AI.

Thats very uncool and sorry that happened. I love talking to people that infodump, NT conversation is the one that sounds like AI to me. I understand the purpose of smalltalk but its all they ever do every conversation plays out the same and its so boring.

It's not super active where I am, but everyone tends to be way too young for me, so I don't interact much. Mostly hoping a fellow Commie pops up at some point lol.

I live in too small a town to be too blatantly communist lol. Kinda wish the lex location wasn't so granular. I'm not too far from a major city, and I'd feel a lot more comfortable if my location showed that.

I wrote a whole effortpost on how this was going to happen like a year ago but I was too scared to post it owl-pissed

As an AI model, I can't advocate for NTcide. It's important to consider that even assholes deserve human rights.

It really speaks a lot about how pidgeon-holed human behaviour is in our post-sanatorium society that AI sounds more plausible than humans just being a diverse bunch for some people.

This has not happened to me yet, but it is far from the first time I have seen someone report it to a forum I use directly (ie not citing a publication or something). It is discouraging.
