        Most of the jazz playlists pushed by Spotify feature fake artists. Spotify probably just purchased the rights to a recording and collects 100% of the revenue.

    yeah this sucks but those streaming services aren't exactly paying the rest of musicians anything worthwhile

        the ambient soundscape, classical and certain live performance rules are total bullshit but i can see the justification behind remixes just because most remixes aren't authorized and it's probably bad to let musicians make money off other people's work without getting permission. like, you get things where certain EDM producers will take a famous old song, tweak it to make it sound a little more modern but basically the same and then release it as a "remix". that's totally fine for live sets, but making money off that feels weird.

        of course the solution to this is nationalizing all capitalist industry and subsidizing the arts via a socialist state
