Yeah probably, just not how I think of getty images usually. In my head its just dumb photoshoots of some stupid scene with B list models, or things they buy the rights to after the fact.
Most stock photo agencies have images that can be licensed only for "editorial" use. Getty in particular has a ton of that stuff. It's smaller than their "commercial" archive (the stuff that can be licensed for advertising etc.), but there's still a lot of press photographers who sell images to them.
