The original comic is anti-gun, but it's fun to reappropriate:

Last one for today, still got a few more to post tomorrow but I don't wanna bog the meme channel down too much

I don't think its even "anti-gun" per say. It feels more like an indictment of the "personal solution" panacea that's endemic to consumer capitalism.

Guns are just one more Miracle Widget, right alongside burglar alarms and bitcoins, whose over-promised solutions are targeted at the most vulnerable residents.

Don't trust the police, buy a gun! Don't trust the gun, buy a big dog. Don't trust the dog, buy a door with a fancy electronic lock. Don't trust your neighbors to help you. Don't trust your family to protect you. Don't trust strangers! They're all looking to rob you. Don't trust, don't trust, don't trust. Just trust me and give me your money.

"Don't Trust the Police, Trust The Privatized Police" tends to be the angle it eventually rolls down.

I'm always amazed at how many "Seal Security" and other off-brand pigs I see just cruising the open road on to their next gigs.

Absolutely. Just galling to see how lucrative "private police" has become in a city that drops a third of its budget on the HPD.

Like, how can you be some kind of Blue Lives Matter ride-or-die dipshit and still think that going out of pocket for faster response times or more manpower is normal and cool? Which the fuck is it? Are cops worth this enormous stipend or aren't they?
