alright here's how we organize the unit, team of 2 children to load and operate the mortar, 1 high school student to calculate the ballistics trajectories, and 1 surly 17-yo camp counselor to check their work. these shells we stole from raytheon are expensive after all.
The minimum age to enlist in the US military is 17 and it isn't a war crime to use children in war as long as they're at least 15 so this exact setup probably exists somewhere.
