After the zoo that famously starved one of the Panda on loan from China, that makes sense. I still think it was intentional to take out their sinophobia on panda.

It's good that they take back all pandas.

Yaya before and after returning to China. Some libs will argue that it's not mistreatment smh.

Mistreatment of giant pandas Lele and Yaya

Giant pandas Lele and Yaya have long been abused and mistreated by the Memphis Zoo since 2003, they both have been suffering from distress and malfunction, while they spent their time in dirty, small enclosures, leading to Yaya having chronic skin diseases and severe health issues. In response to this, animal rights groups have been lobbying and urging the zoo to send the pandas back to their residence, where the campaign has been successful, as the zoo announced to return the pandas in 2024. [23] However, Lele passed away on January 2023 due to the unpleasant environment and lack of care, sparking anger and discontent in China. In spite of this, Chinese netizens urged authorities to bring Yaya back home to avoid tripping over the same stone. And memphis zoo restricted who can comment on facebook on this issue, and who allows a zoo to apply censorship in US?[24][25]

      Wikipedia removed this section though.

If you ever visit China, they have all kinds of programs where you can see them and even help out with volunteer work. Don't have to worry about if they are being well cared for either, they definitely are.

and even help out with volunteer work.

I've seen videos and it's made me really wish I could interact with Pandas like they do. Are you telling me it's not a pipe dream?

This doesn’t show much of “rising tension”, that’s just media fearmongering.

All that happened was that the loan agreement ran out, and they haven’t gotten around to making a new one. The pandas have been prepped for movement for weeks at this point.

This isn’t just between the US and China. Zoos cannot legally buy and sell animals for cash, favors, property, or any other asset, in an effort to undermine animal smuggling and poaching. Instead there is an international system of trading where zoos will trade and loan animals to each other like Pokémon cards.

This isn’t a political move either; a lot of US zoos are private entities and thus a lot of them treat their animals like shit. There are some beautiful incredible zoos in the US, but a lot of them should be razed to the ground in their current state.

I made a point to go see the pandas in DC before they were gone and they really really needed a sign saying this. Every couple of minutes I heard someone asking "why are the pandas leaving?".

the maoist uprising against the landlords was the largest and most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, and led to almost totally-equal redistribution of land among the peasantry

I've never seen a case of boba liberal self hate so extreme that it spills over onto Pandas.

What do most animals do besides bumble around? What are they supposed to do, stare at a screen and use Microsoft Excel for 9 hours a day?

First of all, bamboo forests make up a significant chunk of forest cover in the places pandas live. There's a reason bamboo has such significance in old Chinese culture, and it's not because it's some rare material. Bamboo forests are very dense and make other hunting rather challenging, particularly if you grow to the size of a panda.

Second, how does this girl think pandas survived before humans? They just cum in a circle and by chance happened to impregnate each other?

I saw a panda at an American zoo that was just chilling with some stalks on his stomach and just picking up pawfuls and munching them and it looked just like some old, big dude eating chips in front of the TV or something. It was really charming and I hope he has a good time in his ancestral homeland.

China is gathering all the pandas in one place to meld them together into a giant super panda that they will unleash upon the united states
