I'm in a situation at work and none of my Google searches led me to answers applicable to this, so I'm asking Chapo.

My workplace gave employees temporary raises, based on a revenue spike during COVID. We were guaranteed to get this hourly rate at least until the pay period that ended this past weekend. While the raises are expected to continue since revenue has only increased, there has been no communication about this one way or the other.

So yesterday, me and others worked a shift without officially knowing how much we were actually working for. Is this legal? I know almost all laws are favorable to the employer but having to wait until your next paycheck to even know your wage seems like something laborers might be protected from?

If they are counting it as special pay or bonus then no. As long as it defaults to what it was previously and your base wage hasn’t changed
