Trump creating the Patriot Party, republicans trying to reimage themselves from him, democrats being Dems still would break the system. Enough of his base would gravitate towards him, and give an excuse for more outright racism and whatever else they can find use for it. It would be an actual 3rd party that could fuck up the system enough to allow more parties in. Left could take advantage maybe?

Unless you get rid of First Past The Post, Electoral College, and Gerrymandering, the system will continue to produce a duopoly.

That's true, but only regionally, not necessarily nationally. See the UK for example : in every seat there are two major candidates and the rest doesn't really matter, but those two parties aren't the same for every seat.

Best case scenario, honestly is Patriots splitting the votes in the midterms, and republicans suddenly strongly advocationg for ranked choice voting.

Most likely scenario is Republicans being like "nuh uh, we are more than racist enough" and the 2 patrio party candidates that win seats immedately joining the republicans.

Changing the voting system isn’t something I thought of. But I dig it.

It's kind of a fantasy, like I'm not putting all my money in on this, but yes I do believe that splitting the right would be good because it would give a chance to split the actual left from the neolib Democrats. So yeah, I'm for the PP (Patriot Party)

Libs are gonna keep contradicting themselves but idk if their base will ever realize it and break away or keep making excuses.
