I genuinely believe every time someone dies in jail it should be treated as if the guards did a first degree murder until proven otherwise.

If they’re sick enough that dying is reasonable and it’s not the fault of the prison, they should’ve been moved to a medical facility long before they died. If they weren’t, it’s the prison’s fault and someone should be held liable.

And I don’t care what the final cause is. If a prisoner dies from covid, that’s because the warden and guards exposed him, and they should be tried for first degree murder. If a prisoner dies from being stabbed by another prisoner, that’s because the guards weren’t giving sufficient attention and protection, and they should be tried for second degree murder or at least manslaughter. If a prisoner slips and falls it’s the wardens fault for not hiring proper janitorial services that clean up the floors, and he should be charged with manslaughter.
