Like succdems they see themselves as the only legitimate political representative of the working class. They vehemently hate the left not only for wanting a radically different society than they do but also for challenging their perceived birthright to be the "progressive" part and for politing out their hypocricy.
They like the right much better. They don't have the same political differences and the right respects their left-leaning self- image.
like, liberals love to think they're leftists but hate leftists (because they exist to point out that hypocrisy). my head hurts
