An incomplete list of things I've seen people be able to afford today:
Insulin for the rest of the month
Life saving cancer treatment for their cat
Rent
Groceries for the next week or two (buddy had $40 to his name and an empty pantry, didn't know how he was going to eat)
A new car
College tuition payments
Leg surgery for their dog
Donations to local homeless shelters and children's hospitals
Cat food for their little fuzzy one
I honestly lost count of the number of times I teared up today reading all this. And the best part is that all that money was pilfered completely legally from billionaire psychopath ghouls some of whom are now bankrupt and totally disgraced. All this money would have otherwise just gathered dust in offshore tax havens or just be snorted up the noses of billionaire hedgefund pricks.
