There needs to be drawn a bold distinction between people who leave (temporarily or permanently) because they were experiencing hatred (e.g., transphobia) directed at them, versus people who felt alienated because of the stonks posts despite the admins providing a means to filter them out and the mods doing their best to ensure they were kept to the containment subreddit.

These two phenomenon are not on equal footing and should not be discussed as such.
