Little known fact, "woke" is actually just the Fourier transform of "volk".
To be a nerd for those who are interested, Woke comes from Old Germanic Wacan, which is from proto-indo-european Weg or "Be lively". The same root is used for both "Vigil", and "Witch"
Folk is from Old Germanic Fulka , possibly "Squad" or "Group of Warriors" from Proto-Indo-European Ple-Go "Full multitude", the same root as Plebian.
