Because in my world, collateral damage is a pretty good term for the damage wrought by homemade rockets launched in a desperate, flailing attempt against much better equipped captors, whereas said captors, striking with relatively precise weapons, on the heart of an incredibly dense population center where there is guaranteed to be tons of "collateral damage", is a lot closer to cold blooded murder. Especially considering israeli air strikes on gaza didn't start with this particular clash.
