i think this is a fairly standard jojo thing now that i think about it. the only jojo's to die in their own part are confirmed to be attracted to the opposite gender, with jonathan married and jolyne dating the dude that got her arrested, and when joseph and jotaro show up in parts after getting married they're weaker

The beginning of this anime was so good and hilarious to me that the rest didn't stand up. I could watch years of Dio doing evil shit and JoJo reacting to it
