hope they don’t have administrative action taken against them. it would really suck to be denied education just for speaking against a genocidal apartheid state

Almost 100% chance of expulsion. Probably non-zero chance of being murdered. No I’m not joking.

Israel has a whole wiki that documents "antisemites" on college campuses. Basically, anyone who is critical of the state. You'll find some random kid's name and possibly picture on there.

This is how Microsoft and other companies ended up setting servers on fire when Microsoft Exchange email servers were all the rage to run on prem. Think what happens when you have a company of 100k+ people and one idiot makes an email to a company wide distribution group. Then think about if someone replies, or two people reply, or ten! Soon your own company is bringing down their own email servers because of one improperly made distribution group. Think about how much of a mess that is to clean up on the back-end.

Hey! That's my university. We are famous for platforming transphobes and racist scumbags and believe in collective punishment when we are called out on it.

We were also partly founded by the intelligent mind of Millard Fillmore who signed the fugitive slave act of 1850 into law (only till last year did we actually scrape his name off signs and stuff).

Our student union also embezzles money on occacion and sucks at not getting events cancelled even though we all have to pay for their existence in the tuition.

Honestly this is all just the fact that state department funding means state department opinions. UB isn't filled with this crap just capped off on it.

Sure is interesting how there's no mention of students with Palestinian heritage now having to watch as Israel indiscriminately bombs Gaza to rubble.

Wonder how the "Intercultural and Diversity Center" will welcome them.

That’s a whole lotta words to just say “I support genocide”. Are they trying to meet a word count?

I bet you'd be hard-pressed to find one that doesn't. Seems like the media is in lockstep on this one

Settlers always know what they are doing, of course; it was why they worked so hard to slaughter the buffalo: they wanted to kill indigeneity, not just individual indigenous people. A people who marked time and history by the buffalo could not survive in their collectivity without it. And so, as “Plenty Coups” of the Crow nation put it,

“When the buffalo went away the hearts of my people fell to the ground, and they could not lift them up again. After this nothing happened.”

His point was that without the buffalo—the object on and through which his people existed and made collective meaning—their history could not continue. Individuals could survive, as he had, but the people had (arguably) come to an end.

Very surprised haven’t received a similar email from my university president yet. We have a larger Arab student body than most schools, so maybe that’s why.

My BIL works at a University of California (largest uni system in the US) school and he showed me the email that the system president sent out. Basically the exact same thing, condemning the attacks and aggressively supporting Israel, and not even a superficial acknowledgement that Palestinians are living in horrible conditions under an occupation force.
