I remember when breadtube first started taking off a long time back and someone made a decent effort post attempting to link and crowdsource more BIPOC "breadtubers" and they also touched on how white breadtube predominantly was. It has been well known for awhile now how white breadtube is, and there are quite a few good content creators who either outright reject the idea of being a part of breadtube or are simply indifferent to that title and it's pretty clear to me at least this is partially why (plus some recognize how radlib they are.) This has been a common theme and criqute for long enough and I've yet to personally see much change within that that community. However I don't check it often at all anymore but it seems like it has always been like this and I'm not gonna hate on your fav breadtubers but there is a lot of bougie ass posters and content creators there. Some of them are just unwatchable to me and I also think do disservice sometimes with how much these folks put faith into electoralism and creates very complacent people who think just watching a video is radical.

This is one of the things I like about ThoughtSlime. They at least try to signal-boost other creators, many of which have been POC in some way. Regardless of any personal disagreements people might have, that part's at least pretty chill.
I remember before them specifyi8ng they didn't want they/them (was it anything but they/them?) but then they got mad about people blowing up at others over it so now they just use they/them out of spite.
Yup, and there is some arguments to be made about linking more lib content creators but I don't really want to get too much into that. But I will say, I'm not entirely convinced breadtube isn't just gonna end up (or partially already has) as another form of mindless consumption packaged up as some type of activism. I don't watch enough of it anymore but I could not get over how little so many of them challenge how politics is actually done in this country. I'm sure there is some out there that are challenging this and encouraging people think beyond just electoralism, but just browsing the top posts on that sub it doesn't seem to be as popular of an idea over lib-adjacent ideology shit.

Everybody likes Matt. By the way, they are nonbinary and use they/them pronouns.

Oh I didn't know that. I just heard they used they/them.
Cheers, I totally didn't know. Edited to reflect that!
