idk if I'm just brain poisoned now or if its always been this bad, but I find myself passionately hating every single part of the super bowl this year. it seems so dystopian, especially knowing we're in the middle of the worst global catastrophe in human history and the climate is about to implode any second now.

Gotta say, compared to previous years/decades, the diminished nationalism is a relief. Usually it’s a fucking over the top fascist romp of USA! USA!

I’m thinking it had something to did with the BLM protests and all the potential and short-lived pro sports strikes over the summer. Which led to the lukewarm and kind of lame (wasn’t enough) to force the NFL to make some minor concessions. So we get End Racism in the end zones and lots of pageantry in the pregame and on the commercials about “unity” and “coming together.”

Won’t mean shit until the get Kap back on the field.

But it does feel good to see the proverbial finger to all the scumbag Blue Lives matter racists who had to see all the BLM stuff today.

I mean, they did the flyover of jets and cut to troops in Kuwait during the anthem. Bar is low I guess.

Yeah that predictable shit looks unfortunately like it’s gonna be par for the course in Fascist USA. That’s probably the top thing that made me walk away from being a season ticket holder for years. The constant glorifying of military personnel and law enforcement during the games is so sickening. Of course they literally have a contract with the military for recruitment.

Pro football is infested with literal and metaphorical military imagery. That, and the underlying really ugly bigotry and racism in the stands.

Maybe I just missed it but that dopey obligatory 8 mile high flag draped across the entire flag wasn’t there I thought.
