There absolutely should be controls on mass media, but it's one of those things where the mechanisms will only be abused by a government owned lock and key by capitalists, just as gun control is often implemented in cases where a community wants to defend itself from cops. There can be no solution except to separate the rich from the levers of state power in favor of a more genuine form of democracy.

I'd rather all the monopolies be broken up into dozens+ more companies and allow actual difference of viewpoints to flourish instead of the current system that is completely controlled by corpos/government

also there should be far more public access media than just a single one for a select few locations
