But they never had millions of people suffer in freezing weather because one of their states didn’t want to incorporate its electrical grid with the feds and because the private companies that ran the power plants decided it would be more profitable for them to shut down in the middle of the worst storm that this country has seen in like 50 years

About the tv show, is it watchable or filled to the brim with anti-communist propaganda?

It's an entertaining show if you're able to turn off your brain and just enjoy things and not get frustrated at the revisionist bullshit. I enjoyed it for what it was worth, the actors all did a great job, but there is definitely moments where you'll be like, "come the fuck onnnnn"

The issue is how serious they take it, unlike some other media where it's not all that serious (Death of Stalin for example.) I think you should try to watch it and just go in knowing it's propaganda and typical American media doing the red scare bullshit.

I thought it's watchable. It has its good moments but the overarching theme is inevitably "communism= bad". It's a good exercise for sporting framing and training yourself to see how opinion is shaped and reenforced. It's not a history show so there are liberties and in these gaps you'll see how they slip in the anti-communism. Like the show will tell you that the design flaw was covered up and kept secret, which is an absolute lie. The design shortcomings were openly discussed in Nuclear engineering circles for years before the accident. With all that I still I say go for it.

It's filled like 3/4 the way with anti-soviet propaganda. But they don't go quite as far out of their way to say "USSR bad" as I expected them to.
