One of America's leading pig slaughterhouses is running faster than ever as meatpackers hustle to keep pork in grocery stores during the COVID-19 pandemic. Plant worker Hector Ixquier says it's time to slow down.
Just throwing this out there. Familiar with the industry, the companies are really hurting on the labor side. So workers being rushed, working 7days a week, morale is low. Quite ripe for an industry wide strike. And you know your typical blue-blooded american't needs their porkchops.

The workers can’t organize because it’s like 90% migrant workers who work in slaughterhouses. Their employers will literally call ICE on organizers.
Maybe not the case in your area, but that’s what I’ve seen any time I’ve been at a meat plant.

Why would an employer call ICE that has knowingly hired illegal workers? It's like admitting they're defrauding the federal govt's E-verify.
Do employers ever actually get in trouble for that under our current system?
