Just throwing this out there. Familiar with the industry, the companies are really hurting on the labor side. So workers being rushed, working 7days a week, morale is low. Quite ripe for an industry wide strike. And you know your typical blue-blooded american't needs their porkchops.
The workers can’t organize because it’s like 90% migrant workers who work in slaughterhouses. Their employers will literally call ICE on organizers.
Maybe not the case in your area, but that’s what I’ve seen any time I’ve been at a meat plant.
Why would an employer call ICE that has knowingly hired illegal workers? It's like admitting they're defrauding the federal govt's E-verify.
Do employers ever actually get in trouble for that under our current system?
Biden can't change the rules permitting the speed up for reasons.
I have a deep burning hatred for all the leftists that have said "I eat meat, because agricultural workers are exploited". Like slaughterhouse workers aren't???
No one of note. I'm thinking about the 10 million or so times that non vegan leftists needed to start an anti-vegan struggle session on some leftbook page.
Tbh, posters on r/CTH and its various reincarnations have been way better.
holy shit reuters speaking to a worker about a labor abuse?
When fast sometimes you butcher self a bit, is not good!
