Also apparently the armour piercing variant of the 9x39mm round with its tungsten core can punch through 8mm or 1/3 inch of hardened steel and still maintain enough force to kill someone behind it at a distance of 100m/328ft. All that despite being a subsonic round traveling at 300m/s or 1000ft/s.
