Not really its just not something you think about, but it probably turns a lot of people off who only know chapo from that one person and that’s the origin of the podcast name .

That is outweighed by like, miles, compared to picking a name that just fucking dissolves into the ether, just words bleeding straight off the screen. Like, I would love to hear a smart name for this site, but nobody has done it.

The chapo name has a meaning understood by millions of people.

There are literally just two requirements:

      1. Slightly funny or edgy

      2. Recognizable as leftist

Go look through the poll on c/main alternatives. There’s some good ones

What was your favorite one, without checking the thread to remember

It's not good enough to change the name in my opinion, but it's certainly better than Hexbear

Obviously. Nothing is for you because you want it to stay the same because you have an attachment to it. That’s fine

That's not true, I would change it if someone had something great. It's not a moving goalpost, it's just a high bar because changing the name just makes it that much harder to spread the site and talk about it. I'm not "attached" to it beyond its functional advantages over various random-ass names.

It can't even be *as* good as chapo.chat, it actually has to be substantially better if it's going to be worth a name change.
