I basically can't watch anything without subtitles now because my hearing is slowly getting worse and worse. I bought Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 on Google Play and it didn't have any subs even though the original series did. Is there any place I can check this before I watch something?
honestly piracy and opensubtitles might be more reliable than anything else
Subtitles are also borderline standard on private trackers. I have downloaded terabytes of movies from TorrentLeech, all of them came with subtitles accessible via VLC with no tweaking.
It's actually crazy how good subtitle support is for piracy. The new Saw X film only has a cam version and even that has subtitles.
The fuck this isn't neuridiversity-related. Watching this for an answer. This could be useful.
It isn't you, it's the mastering: Why we all need subtitles now
You might have some luck finding subtitles on: OpenSubtitles
That's all very true but I'm also actually losing my hearing too 🥲
Sorry to hear that.... Oh god damnit.... Sorry that's happening to you! It's okay, it's part genetic and part my love of blasting my ears with loud music...
Get on a private piracy tracker. I haven't downloaded a movie or show that didn't just come with subtitles in a long time.
also, some services limit which subtitles they offer you based on the region they detect you're in...
