LG is a company responsible for deaths of 12 and grave harm to thousands at Visakhapatnam, India with the gas leak. Well at home in South Korea they tried to bug one of their chemical plant with recording devices to spy on union activities, and now LG is in hot waters after they tried to fire union janitors(who have been putting up with measly pay, harassment and even extortion by management for decades) at their HQ building and attempted to starve them by blocking food, water, electricity and heating to the sit-in site.

Believe it or not LG is considered by the South Korean general public as one of less ghoulish 재벌s since it donates a lot to charities and unlike other chaebols its ruling family have not yet been caught doing shit like a) having a very explicit document outlining unionbusting strategy in their HQ office while Prosecutors searched up the building during a bribery investigation regarding former South Korean president Park Keun-Hye b) group president beating up a bartender with bodyguards bc he had a spat with the prez'son. (all real folks) They were caught with regular big corp stuff like bribing politicians with truckloads of money and luxuries and funding far right astroturfing organizations but still

The HR conpany the janitors were technically hired under was owned by 2 aunts of current LG president Koo Kwang-Mo(great-grandson of LG founder) and they got paid nearly $6 million in stock dividends and bonuses while the elderly janitors were paid minimum wages, harassed and were even extorted money by their shift managers. Faildaughter goals I guess
