Hey all, I've posted some music here to good response and even worked with a chapo comrade on some music and I'm looking to do more collabs. I don't want to dox myself so I'm not going to post my main music stuff, sorry, but here is some unreleased stuff that I'm down to post publicly in the hopes of finding some other producers to work with.

I've been producing in Ableton for about 9 years and used FL Studio for several years before that. I'm trained in mixing and mastering and can handle most aspects of a complete project. Lately, I'm interested in making dance music like deep house and chill experimental stuff, but I'm open to most anything. I have a background making dark synthwave and psytrance with some chill dub vibes but I'm trying to expand into more chill, lighter music. I need some uplifting vibes. Lately I've been listening to a lot of vaporwave and deep house I guess, but I'm kind of in a period of exploration so I'm pretty open to any new stuff.

Ideally, I would like to work with people using Ableton too, but we can probably work around it however is needed. Stems can always be exported.

Anyway, here's some tunes. If you like what you hear and are interested in collabing, please hit me up! Really looking to make some more connections with other artists.

Hey, I love producing and would love to collab.....but uh i kind of suck and I’m still just a beginner. I started 6 years ago with Logic Pro. Here’s my first project ever, don’t laugh:

    https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/tNfD9dmYN5Kx5e9Y7

Since then I’ve been able to make less...’background noise’ and actual tunes. I’ve got like 30 songs, but they’re all incomplete haha

I’m pretty good with Logic Pro, I have novice level understanding of MaxMSP and Ableton so I think I could get into it.

So I don’t know how much use you’d find in collabing with me but I would love to learn more.

I'd be down to do some collaborating! Your link reminded me of a lot of cool background sounds in psy music I love. I'm a huge fan of Shpongle and those sounds would fit right in with some dense music like that I think. But whatever we end up working on would be cool. Have you used Ableton much? I have some Logic experience but I'm not very well versed and I don't own it anymore, but I might be able to find it other ways.

Yes! I can make ambient sounds for days. I learned Ableton back when I learned Logic so I forgot most of it but I think can get back into it. I’ve got a copy of Logic pro in my drive so let me know.

hey ive actually thought about doing this myself, rn I'm neck deep in trying to get some work approved for a label I work with but as soon as I'm done with all that i'm down to work on something maybe next week?

I wanted to enlist some people on the site to help add some parts to a project i'm planning. this was a proof of concept for the vibe if you will.

I've done a lot of every style of electronic music you can imagine from edm of all styles to hip hop to whatever (unfortunately dont have anything i could show that would be doxxing, most of it is relatively to pretty public), been a professional producer and engineer for over 12 years and i use ableton so I'm down for whatever especially with the vaporwave, chill kind of vibes.

Anyway, sorry I can't get stuck in immediately but lets definitely circle back if youre still looking for someone to collab with after the weekend

Yeah, sounds great. I'm in no rush, just looking to make more connections so feel free to hit me up when you're free next week. Psyched to hear more about your work and background. Hope your current work goes well too.

sounds good! how did you wanna go about it? I can send you some samples of things you can flip or something, or I can produce out like a 16-32 bar section or something and send you the stems and you can kind of extend it or remix it into more?

thanks, we've been fighting the head of the label to get these songs approved, i've whined about it a couple times in the megathreads, we're happy it with it and they're not giving us feedback lol

The last collab was accomplished by just freezing tracks for the interim. If I need to make edits to someone else's track and I don't have the plugs then I can duplicate and flatten it and edit the audio channel instead.

The return and master channels will probably just need to be figured out at the end but we can load similar settings in them. I think that process worked pretty well before, but we can definitely work with audio stems too. I do prefer having visible MIDI if possible though which is why I think freezing is preferred.

I haven't worked with a label before but that sounds really frustrating so my condolences haha. Hope the resolution is a tenable one for you all. Also open to any workflows you might have and like. I'm pretty flexible for the most part.

yea that makes sense. I tend to end up with everything in audio by the end of the project bc I usually finish everything off in pro tools bc i like it better for mixing and its what ive been using at my job for my whole career (plus we have a really good summing amp at my job) and also i like to manipulate audio with abletons warp algos but I always keep the midi around just in case. (you never know when youre gonna have to come back months or years later and not remember anything lol)

but i'm extremely flexible so freezing works well, only problem with freezing is its hard to move the regions around i think.

its a mixed bag. My last label was super chill, the owner pretty much gave us carte blanche and just released things when we were done. This new one, i think the owner just likes making things difficult to feel like he had his hand in it some how idk lol

Cool, yeah that makes sense too. Keeping empty (plugins, not patterns) MIDI channels and pressing to audio on everything else is fine too, I just like the MIDI as a reference if possible. Especially if you have a good summing amp. I don't use any outboard gear right now, it's all packed up in boxes and my sound card needs a repair so I'm all ITB right now, but it would be great to have stuff run through your setup. I'm sure it sounds great.

Lol, yeah I could see that. I'm a designer by trade and I find that creative directors like to control shit for exactly that reason. Justifying their jobs seems to be a huge part of the whole schtick lol.

yea we have a lot of nice outboard gear, a bettermaker limiter, a shadow hills compressor, we used to have an ssl sigma which is my personal fav summing amp but we have an API one now in our A room and a dangerous music on in the b. Tbh I only use outboard gear in the mastering phase and even then not too often, everything else is in the box but our preamps and stuff. Sonny Moore won like 3 grammys on an album that never left ableton 8 using ozone 5 so 🤷

                creative industry struggles lol

Yeah, Ableton and some plugs are super capable these days, but I'm still a bit of a sucker for nice gear. I just have a shitload of gear guilt now that it's sitting in storage lol. I can't deny that I prefer working ITB for the most part these days though. But yeah, if I had access to your gear I'd probably master on it too.

I am teaching myself production too, I want to make synthwave and new wave stuff, dreamy 80s synth with a ton of bass. I’ve written one track that is okay, but there are a lot of skills that I need to learn. Maybe we can collab sometime!

Heres the first track I made

It’s basically me putting together a bassline, chords, arps, and melody and looping it together. I’m learning more dynamic stuff now.

Yeah this is cool! I don't have FL anymore so I can't produce in it but maybe we can export stems back and forth. I've worked on a lot of synthwave and definitely would be down to do some more of it!

All my friends drag their heels and insist on Pathfinder 90% of the time, but I can occasionally tempt them out of the niche for a grungy cyberpunk heist one-shot.

1e or 2e? Pathfinder 2e and shadowrun are all I play but a friend is trying to get a delta green game going.

1e. We tried out the 2e demo at GenCon a few years back, kinda soured on it, and never really looked back.

The couple that normally DMs is currently running Kingmaker, Reign of Winter, and Carrion Crown concurrently.

If you ever get a chance to try it out again it has ironed out some of the kinks, if you do an adventure path I would recommend Extinction Curse. There was a chacha group that ran Agents of Edgewatch flavoured after Reno 911.

I've always wanted to play Carrion Crown!

That sounds amazing! I've actually had a loose plan to make a cyberpunk themed DnD background music EP or something, so I'm psyched to hear this!
