I don't think the US troops were ever there officially. It started with special forces types slitting throats of Syrian children for fun, and then it suddenly became tanks, the people who support said tanks, and a whole logistical apparatus with a comically oversized hose tapped into Syrian oil wells with a big "To USA" label on the side

I think these were on the Iraqi border and were used to operate in Iraq.

a day after the inaugeration our overlords sent a number a troops and vehicles into syria. they were the first ones to have entered in over a year. unity! 😀

btw I had to go through google hell to find a source on this...this is the chaos of the news cycle...you get so much info you forget what happened a month ago.
