Like, even from a standard design perspective (political stage design is my passion), it's somewhat menacing. I mean it fits the general aesthetic of the Right; hard angles, odd negative space, the vague feeling that they are singling YOU out. This thing is pointing at something. It's an arrow, a missile, a fucking drone. Menacing. Also what the fuck is up with that podium placement? It's in the -middle- of the spearhead. It highlights, the ONLY lighter hued space on that stage, it's set apart from the rest. It kinda implies the the idea that the speaker is separate, they are above and far from the masses.

-This is all just a quick psychological assessment. I doubt most of what I said was a conscious decision. All of the menacing and psychological effect design work (as far as using this as a political totem) was done for them... by whom? Take a guess.

-ALL OF THAT BEING SAID: this is too specific a shape to be a mistake. It's weird. It's uninviting. I don't know if I fully buy the "Oops. I didn't even notice!" Line of hypothetical rationalization. Way too on the nose to be a mistake. AGAIN: this is just a take, I've done nothing other than look at it. There's a large grain of salt over there, ya might wanna take it.
