People still use the "hey, Americans were scared after 9/11" excuse for that whole circus. MF it was 6 years after 9/11! And the PD never admitted they were wrong, the guys who put the signs up were brought up on bomb hoax charges because the fucking pigs shit themselves when they saw a lite brite.

Government fearmongering about imminent terroristic threats when they know they do not exist?

Sounds like American college campuses today. And the government but they’re the OG terrormongers.

i want to say something about how it's illegal and heavily policed to have fun and be unusual in public but I'm not sure how. Wasn't there something with mario question mark blocks, too? And how every forgotten backpack gets called in as a bomb threat now?

And how every forgotten backpack gets called in as a bomb threat now?

Americans saw United 93 and immediately thought they were all gonna be badass heroes taking down the evil brown savage terrorists. Only problem is terrorism actually happens about a million times less than Americans believe so they have to resort to reading terrorism into everything.

They’re drunk off “see something do something” propaganda. Probably bolstered by the “any bag you see not handcuffed to a person is a BACKPACK NUKE!” announcements in airports.
