I translated the article from French and apparently the sign has been broken for months lmao. When police called the manager in to turn the sign off he was like "I didn't know shit about hamas until a week ago, getting it fixed was too expensive"
critical support to extremely french small business owner
to be clear, i have a healthy respect for the french, because they are the only western country that isn't thoroughly housebroken, and i like that
I agree. The bar is very, very low but France seems to be the best of the west.
Well, neoliberalism is working its wonders here, maybe more slowly than in the anglo sphere where it is full steam ahead. The tightening of security due to terrorism in the last years with more and more security laws (think PATRIOT act) being enacted, resulting in more police powers and impunity. French cops were never better than others, but today they are free wheeling like crazy with full support from the government and most of mass media
Even labor unions which historically were a big power block in France are struggling, they are attacked in the media, by the cops on the street, by the legislative majority who have been passing neoliberal economic laws to reduce worker power since even before Macron, thanks François Hollande a "socialist" president
So unless a dramatic change of course happens, we'll another us style neolib hell in 10 years, maybe less
still better than the rest of us lol
here (england) our historically strong unions had their spines broken in the 80s by thatcher
the yanks have it even worseWe never got a Reagan/Thatcher here that's true, even Macron who's spiritually the same couldn't go as far as they did
From the river to the sea, buy one taco get one free !!
lol this joke is cursed and now it's going to be in my head forever, thanks
Can you get decent Mexican food in France now? I've always heard its tough in Europe
