A new report claims that a new Nintendo Switch model that comes with a larger screen and can output 4K graphics when docked will be unveiled later this year.
Yeah, I don’t see how they’d be able to upscale. The hardware wouldn’t be there, I don’t think, considering the Xbox one x was barely able to upscale to 4K and that thing was big
I’m still skeptical because the switch is just such a small console already and nintendo has never been known to be “up to date” when it comes to the best processors and resolution. They always seem to be just a touch behind, but the games always make up for it, plus they’re really good at optimizing games.

truthfully it'll be the system menu that outputs in 4k with some games maybe outputting in 1080p or 1440p instead of 900p

But it also ran on ancient Jaguar cores. Assuming there's some DLSS in the mix I think it'll be able to do 1080p > 4k
