It's baller. The action is so ridiculously over the top (but not in the annoying Marvel way). The shootouts honestly remind me of the insane, explosive action scenes I'd daydream up in my head as a kid. The main focus was obviously the action, but the story was pretty engaging as well despite being a standard detective story. It doesn't take itself too seriously either, and there's some great physical comedy at times, like when

Tequila's pants are on fire but the baby he's holding puts it out by peeing on him.
The soundtrack is funky as hell too, with a blend of jazz and early 90s synths. This is the first John Woo movie I've seen, and now I'm interested in checking out more of his filmography asap.
I want a John Woo box set from Criterion so bad, but I'd settle for a reprint of Hard Boiled.
